U.S. Marine Corps celebrates 243rd birthday

The U. S. Marine Corps celebrated its 243rd birthday Saturday. The Corps of Marines was created as a resolution of the continental congress. Since then, thousands of men and women have served this country bearing the name Marine. Dozens of marines and veterans attended a special celebration at the Kern County Veteran Service Department, where  marines from all walks of life to celebrate the special day.
