
While many locals will make a mad dash to the stores to finish up some last-minute shopping, others will hustle to the nearest post office in hopes of shipping off their gifts in the nick of time. Post offices in Bakersfield are already seeing a 17-percent surge in packages this season, Bakersfield Postmaster Lynda La Force told Eyewitness News.
