One apartment unit destroyed in south Bakersfield fire

An apartment on the 2600 block of Chandler Court burned Thursday evening. Bakersfield Fire crews responded to the fire around 5:15 p. m. and found an apartment engulfed in flames. “We were able to stop the fire at the one apartment,” Battalion Chief Casey Snow said. Nearby apartments sustained smoke damage. “The one apartment unit that was involved with fire is going to be a total loss," Snow said. No one was inside the apartment when the fire happened.
