Man gets 118 years to life in prison in rape-for-hire case

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – A man was sentenced to 118 years to life in prison in a rape-for-hire case. Haliki Green Jr. was previously found guilty on five charges, including rape by force. Prosecutor Courtney Lewis said they moved forward with Green’s sentencing Friday after his motion for a new trial was denied. Another man, Russell Higgins, was previously sentenced to 53 years to life in prison in the case. Prosecutors said Higgins hired Green to rape a woman in 2016.
