Kern Medical, labor union strike tentative deal on employee contract

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – Kern Medical on Wednesday announced it has come to tentative terms on a new contract with the labor union representing its staff. The hospital’s Board of Governors must still approve the deal, with has been ratified by staff. The contract negotiated by the Service Employees International Union Local 521 will affect nearly 1,600 employees. The hospital said many staff members will see their first wage increase since 2013.
