Kern County out of drought status for 1st time in a year

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – Kern County is out of drought conditions for the first time in more than a year. Most of Kern had been in “moderate drought” since Jan. 30, 2018, according to the U. S. Drought Monitor. But, with the latest update, out earlier this week, almost all of Kern is now classified as being “abnormally dry. ”Eyewitness News Chief Meteorologist Miles Muzio says he’s optimistic about the winter staying wet.
