Kern County Veterans Stand Down is Thursday

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – The Kern County Veterans Stand Down is this week. The annual event focuses on helping veterans who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. However, all veterans are invited. The Stand Down is 8 a. m. to 3 p. m. Thursday at Stramler Park, 3805 Chester Ave. Louis Medina, who is with the Kern Community Foundation and serves on one of the committees for the event, estimates 450-500 veterans will be served at the Stand Down.
