High-speed rail's economic impact on Kern County being questioned

Yesterday Governor Gavin Newsom unveiled significantly scaled down plans for the state's high-speed rail project. What was initially meant to connect San Francisco and Los Angeles, will now only run through the Central Valley from Bakersfield to Merced.
