First emergency preparedness fair held on Saturday

This morning, the Kern County Fire Department hosted its first emergency preparedness fair at Cal State Bakersfield. “People can come out and get the information they need to survive a disaster,” said Chief Brian Marshall of the Kern County Fire Department. It’s all a part of celebrating September as National Disaster Preparedness month, which encourages families to be ready at a moment’s notice. “A lot of disasters occur without any warning, and people need to be prepared,” said Marshall.
