
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – The Bakersfield City Council has appointed nine people who will be part of a new sales-tax oversight committee. Measure N, the one-cent tax increase, was approved last fall by voters. The estimated $50 million a year generated by the tax increase is intended to help various city needs, with an emphasis on public-safety services.
