Car crashes into tree on Old River Road, bursts into flame

Bakersfield police closed Old River Road Friday morning after a single-car fatal crash. Officers responded around 10:30 a. m. to a report of an injury traffic collision south of Campus Park Road, BPD Sgt. Mike Gerrity said. When they arrived on scene, they found a four-door BMW sedan fully engulfed in flames. Bakersfield fire crews responded to the scene and put out the fire.
