California Department of Justice gives blessing to Dignity Health merger

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – The California Department of Justice has given conditional approval to the ministry alignment agreement between Dignity Health and Colorado-based Catholic Health Initiatives. The two health systems are merging. The resulting organization, CommonSpirit Health, will operate nearly 140 hospitals in multiple states, including 30 hospitals in California.
