CalFresh recipients getting benefits early, warned to make them last

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – Local officials are warning that those who receive food benefits from the government will be affected by the ongoing shutdown. Pam Holiwell, assistant director at the Kern County Department of Human Services, said February’s CalFresh benefits will be issued early, beginning Wednesday, but no additional benefits will be issued in February.
