Before lighting up the fireplace, Check Before You Burn

The Check Before You Burn season begins Thursday and runs through the end of February. This marks the 16th year of the program initiated by the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District. Daily burn information can be found three different ways: by visiting the Valley Air website, by calling (800) SMOG INFO (766-4463) or by downloading the free Valley Air District app on a smartphone.
