BPD getting spammed with inappropriate texts to 911

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) - The text to 911 service provided by Bakersfield Police since mid July is meant to be used when calling the police isn't a safe option. But BPD text message records from the first six weeks of the service show people have been using it for the wrong reasons. People have texted BPD "What is your name[? ]" and "I was wondering what the score for the Dodger game was? " Questions you might ask Alexa or Siri, but not send to the police.
