A young organ donor to be honored at Rose Parade

JJ’s Legacy announce the 2019 Gift of Life award on Monday. The nonprofit, which educates and inspires people in Kern County to become organ and tissue donors, honored Jacob Mendiola, who died in 2014, Jason donated his organs to several people in need. JJ’s Legacy was created in 2009 to honor Jeffrey Johns, a Garces High grad and Bakersfield native who died after a car crash and donated his organs.
