Seven indicted in helping Newman police officer killer

On Thursday, a federal grand jury indicted seven people on charges of conspiring to harbor a Mexican national, Gustavo Perez Arriaga, after he allegedly shot and killed Newman, California police officer Ronil Singh. Three of the seven charged lived here in Kern County and include Erasmo Villegas-Suarez of Buttonwillow, as well Bernabe Madrigal-Castaneda and Maria Moreno, both of Lamont.
